From Pointwise to OpenFOAM

Hello,
Currently I am trying to integrate OpenFOAM with Pointwise. I drew my geometry in Mechanical AutoCAD 2013. Then I did the meshing in pointwise. When I tried to run OpenFOAM I got the following error message. That is :
Create time

Create polyMesh for time = 0

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Cannot find file "points" in directory "polyMesh" in times 0 down to constant

From function Time::findInstance(const fileName&, const word&, const IOobject::readOption, const word&)
in file db/Time/findInstance.C at line 188.

Could anybody give a solution?

Hello Naruto,

Have you exported your mesh from Pointwise in the openFoam format with your boundary conditions applied? It appears your error is telling you that it can't find one of the necessary mesh files.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I exported the boundary conditions too. It did not work. But I figured it out. At first I did the meshing for Fluent. Then I converted the mesh in OpenFOAM. It worked fine. :)

I guess I have to do things the hard way. :)

Naruto:

If you're still experiencing problems with Pointwise's interface to OpenFOAM it would be helpful if you could contact our tech support team so that we can resolve the issue. You can email them at support@pointwise.com.

Thanks.

Naruto I'm having the same problem currently, I tried to import a mesh by using "SalomeMeca" into OpenFoam but the same exact error message appeared, I'm wondering if maybe anyone knows how can I solve it by using "Salome Meca".

Thank You very much.
