Use PointWise to create a wavy wall
Hi. I am using PointWise to create a wavy wall in my project. I need to let the air flow through a long pipe, first part is a almost smooth wall with roughness=100nm, the second part is connected with the first part and the wall is a "wavy" one. The function looks like 0.05sin(100x) or something (I am not sure). And I plan to use CFX to do the calculation. Is there any way to build the "wavy" wall's geometry and mesh in PointWise?
Thank you!

There is no analytic sine function in Pointwise. There are some more general curve drawing tools (Catmull-Rom, Akima, Bezier) as well as a conic curve that you could use to approximate a sine curve.

If you're looking for an actual sine curve you'd have to write a Glyph script to generate a discrete approximation to a sine curve using a series of segments. Of course the more segments the better the approximation.

Let me know if you need help with a script to do that.

another method:

You can generate the coordinates in Excel and import them in PW.

Thank you cnsidero and Far. I may try Far's method first because it seems easier to me.
