Dear users,

I’m trying to prepare a structured mesh for a coil (fig.1). I decided to apply a square block inside the coil (fig. 2). I also prepared a boundary layer block . Now I want to create essential domains (one of this is shown in fig. 3) and build four blocks between square core and boundary layer blocks. I added two connectors highlighted in fig. 2 but obtained mesh is tragic (fig. 3). Frankly, I don’t have any idea how to avoid this problem. (I suspect that domain created on database can generate this problem).

I also created square core using only connectors (fig. 4) but these blocks contain negative volume elements.

Could you give me any suggestions?

Best regards

James_,

Do you have or can you create a curve for the center line of the tube? If so, the easiest approach would be to create the 2D mesh you want at the inlet and then sweep those domains along the center line using the path based extrusion.
