Once you have built or imported a grid in Pointwise you must export it to one of the many supported CAE solvers.

To do this you must:
  1. Select the grid solver using the CAE, Select Solver... menu.
  2. Apply grid volume conditions (VC) using the CAE, Set Volume Conditions... menu.
  3. Apply grid boundary conditions (BC) using the CAE, Set Boundary Conditions... menu.

When you create a BC/VC, you give it a name, a type, and an id. The available types will change depending on the currently selected CAE solver.

Not all solvers support BCs and VCs. If a particular solver does not support them, that menu item will be grayed out.

Once all BCs and VCs are applied, you use the File, Export, CAE... menu to export the grid data and BC/VC data to the solver specific format.

To get more details, read the User Manual using the Help, User Manual... menu.

I hope this answers your question.
