Pointwise: Extrude/Rotation

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I am trying to rotate my 2D domain for a spray into a 3D cylindrical domain. My imaged is attached

It is an unstructured mesh (not the best, but this is just practice). what would be the best way to go about creating an extrude with such a domain?
Also, if I wanted to created a 3d rectangular domain from this, how would that be done? (preferably without coding)

I have messed around with all the options of extrude>>rotate in pointwise with no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

If you are doing a extruded rotation, you have too much grid.

Remove the domains and connectors from the lower half of your grid (below the center, symmetry connector).

The extrude rotate the remaining domains using the center, symmetry connector to define the rotation axis.

Thanks for responding to my question and giving input.
Is there a way to determine how many steps you should use when rotating?

Not that I can tell you. It totally depends on the needs of the simulation you are running.

But basically, each step will produce a layer of extruded cells in the rotation.

Quads will extrude to hexes, Tris will extrude to prisms (wedges).
