FINE/Open: import mesh from pointwise

Hi,

i am a first time user of Numeca and i am wondering if it is possible to import a already existing hybrid grid generated in Pointwise into FINE™/Open.

Does anybody know how which solver i have to choose?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Vanessa,

As far as I'm aware, there is not a direct export to Numeca's products. They use their own integrated meshing tool. However, you may want to see if they are able to import CGNS as this is a standard format for CFD meshes that Pointwise can export.

And there is always the option of creating a CAE exporter plugin for this format.

Poinwise does not support the Numeca grid format.

To import Numeca grids, your only option is to create a Grid Import plugin for this format.

Otherwise, you will need to export the grid from Numeca to a format supported by Pointwise such as CGNS.
