Dear Users,

I want to export my grid from Gridgen to CFX, but whichever format I am using , CFX is not accepting it at all. From analysis s/w I select ANSYS CFX first and then exported. But when it did not work I select CFX v4 and then exported but this also did not work. Gridgen is v15.18

What error messages do you get when importing the files into CFX?

Do you have access to Pointwise? If so, read your Gridgen file into Pointwise and try exporting to CFX from there.

BTW, are you using a Gridgen license from someone else? I see that you have contacted Pointwise, Inc. in the past, but have never purchased a license.

Dear RMatus,

Thank you very much. Through Pointwise, I do not know whether CFX will accept it or not. In Gridgen I have made solid and fluid part. And since they are different CVs. I made interface 1 facing solid and interface 2 with liquid. I am afraid I do not see both in PW. I am seeing an unspecified boundary condition instead of one of the interface. but other interface is visible. I am also unable to delete/edit unspecified.
Regarding license, right now, I am using my earlier Cranfield university account for Gridgen and PW.

Shamoon:

The CAE BC menu in Pointwise is a little different than in Gridgen.

Click on the New button below the list of BCs to make a new BC. Then double-click on the Name field to type in a name for the new BC. Double-click on the CAE Type field to get a pulldown list of CFX BC types to select from.

After defining all the distinct BCs you want, assign domains to BCs by selecting the domains for a BC in the display window and checking the Set box in the BC list.

If it is still giving you trouble, you can get quicker help by contacting our support team at support@pointwise.com

Hope this helps,
Rick
