Pointwise cylinder meshing

Hi,

I'm new to pointwise. I have created a cylinder using shapes and now need to create an unstructured mesh of it. As I understood first youy have to create connectors, then domains and then blocks to get an unstructured volume grid. I get only two connectors created for cylinder along top and bottom flat surfaces, but from that I can't create any domain. Eventhough its very basics I couldn't find any video tutorial on step by step instruction on meshing 3d databases.

Without seeing exactly what you've got it's hard to give precise advice. However, putting an unstructured mesh on a cylinder has one little trick which is to only mesh 180 degrees of it at a time. The surface topology should consist then of 4 domains: one on each end, and one lengthwise on the "top" and one lengthwise on the bottom. So split the two circular connectors you have in the middle. Then draw 2 Point Curves connecting those endpoints along the length of the cylinder. Then assemble the 4 domains. Don't forget to ensure that the two lengthwise domains use the database for shape (instead of having a free shape).

Thank you for the info. Are there any tutorial videos on creating a mesh starting from drawing a cylinder (as a database entity)? I am not much aware of creating additional connectors on databases other than using connector option after selecting the database. Also any tutorial on creating domains (8) for sphered would be much appreciated.
