Hello.
First, I use PW V18.0 R4 I'm struggling with the command "Curve on DB" I don't know how to describe my situation well, so I attached something a lot. (Attachment_01) My target is to generate domain in region 1. Pipe#1 and Pipe#2 are assembled (one model) (Attachment_02) All connectors were generated by "Connectors on DB entities". Select all DBs and click that command (Attachment_03) With "Split" and "Join", I repick the points (P1,P2,P3,P4) (Attachment_04) To connect P1 with P3 and P2 with P4, I used "Curve on DB" (Attachment_05) But domain was not created although I set the same dimensions on each connectors. When I zoomed in P3, the point was not connect in real. So my question is, why "Curve on DB" dose not connect the points? I selected the database (pipe#2) by clicking begin-end option. Thank you for reading. Best regards. |

Hello Ian:
Curve on DB does exactly what it says - it places a connector (a grid curve) on top of a database entity (geometry model curve or surface). Any gaps in the geometry model are therefore reflected in the resulting curves. My first suggestion is to zoom in closely on the database in the region near the gap and see if those curves are closed. Regardless, you can use the Merge command to force those nodes to be the same. That will close the domain's perimeter so it can be initialized.

Hello John:
Thanks for replying. I tried what you said. But, the problem is still in same. I can click the P3 on the connector circle exactly but in that case the new connector is made on the perimeter of the circle. (I cannot connect P1 and P3). When I select the database (pipe#2) and click the P3 in the state of closely zooming, the mouse cursor is not on the P3.(The last picture i attached). And Merge command is already used. There is no overlapped connectors in each DB. The surprising thing is, when I do the same procedure on the other side of the circle, it works well. |
