Hi,
I'm working on ANSYS CFX with imported CGNS files created by Pointwise. Recently, I've upgraded Pointwise to version 17.2R2. When trying to import CGNS files into CFX-Pre, I've received the following error messege: "Unable to import mesh: can't open XXXXX for reading. Reason: array size exceeds that for a 32-bit integer." I suspect this is connected to a new feature from V17.2R1 - CAE export format upgrades to CGNS v3.1.4. What are my options? Thanks. |

My first suggestion would be to switch your solver to Ansys CFX (menu CAE/Select Solver...) and then export using menu File/Export/CAE....
If that won't work for you, we can discuss other options. |

the same problem as mentioned in the thread just occurred when I tried to import a *.cgns file to Ansys CFX. The solver setting is set to Ansys CFX.
Looking forward to other suggestions regarding the problem? |

Make sure you have both the CAE Solver in Pointwise set to ANSYS CFX and that you're using the CAE... option from the Export sub-menu of the File menu. The grid files that Pointwise outputs will be in CFX's native grid format, and you should not have CGNS files.
