Quilt Mode | Irreconcilable Orientation
 

Hi there,

I have a disk and inside the disk there is a propeller. I am using trex by putting front and back of disk as match boundary condition.

This warning appears when I initialize the process.

Warning: dom-17: Could not initialize in quilt mode. Irreconcilable orientation.
Warning: dom-16: Could not initialize in quilt mode. Irreconcilable orientation.

These two domains are front and back of the disk and generated using domain on database feature based on average ds and advancing front ortho on quilts.

I am wondering what this warning is trying to say. Any idea?

Well, this issue was only because I had two parallel planes trimming a shaft along the x-axis and then creating surface mesh on their quilts and merging connectors at the intersection. Then at the intersection there were two quilts: shaft and the plane, which used to define the rotational zone, and at the intersection connectors were projected on the shaft's quilt and not on the plane's quilt, so there were Irreconcilable orientation of quilts.

I am not sure what exactly the quilt mode is here when unstructured solver process a block though.
