Hi there,

how can I copy delta value of a distribution instead of scaled value in a glyph script?

$con getDistribution -copy 1

gets the scaled value and not delta value...

I need to get to the delta value instead... there is an option in GUI though for copying distribution based on delta value...

Cheers,
Pay

If I understand your Q correctly, I suspect one of these will work:

Hi David,

Assuming we have a distribution on con_1 and we have con_2 for which we want to copy the distribution from con_1, when we copy the distribution how can we only copy the delta value and not scaled distribution?

FYI con1 and con2 have different length.

In GUI I see the options: copy delta values, copy scaled distributions.

I am wondering how I can do the same in my script.

Best,

Almost everything done in the GUI is accomplished with Glyph calls.

Turn on message windows journaling (right click on message window) and perform the copy operation in the GUI. The Glyph calls used will be written to the message window.

Done that already to discover the mystery! Thanks alot!

How can I force the copy to keep the begin and end spacing same?

con_1 with dis_1 and hast begin_1 and end_1

copy on con_2 with different length but it must have same distribution with exact same begin and end spacing.

If I change the spacing (end and begin) after being copied, it disturbs the smooth node distribution over the connector...

any clue?

I am not understanding the question.

It might be time for someone else with more experience in this area to chime in.

Each connector has a distribution and each distribution has ending and beginning spacing. While I copy the distribution from con_1 to con_2 that has different length, I want them have exactly same ending and beginning spacings.

If I copy the distribution (e.g. delta value) and then set the beginning and ending spacings. It disturbs the distribution.

If I set the ending and beginning spacing first and then copy the distribution (e.g. delta value), distribution changes the ending and beginning spacings.
