time step

Can I set a fixed time step in reef3d?

kamath April 26, 2021 05:04

Hi Wenyu,
Yes, you can easily switch to a fixed time stepping approach in your simulations using
N 48 0 (to turn of adaptive time stepping)
N 49 <123> (uses the defined time step. replace <123> with desired time step.)

Information available on pp 50 of the REEF3D User Guide

Hope that cleared your issue

Hello, Mr. kamath, can I set a time step in one time period and a different time step in another time period? For example, 0-20s is set to 0.1s, 20s-30s is set to 0.05s

kamath April 29, 2021 02:50

No, this is currently not possible

1.Can the structure be set as elastomer and the water as compressible in reef3d?
2.How to continue the operation after pause?

Flexible structures are currently not part of the code. Fully compressible flow is not supported.
