Hello sir,

I have a multiphase rectangular domain and a ship inside it. The surface at minus x is inflow and the surface at plus x is outflow in my case. Rest of the surfaces are defined as symmetry planes.

My "control" file for DIVEMesh as it is:
C 11 1
C 12 3
C 13 3
C 14 2
C 15 3
C 16 3
B 1 0.02
B 10 -1.5 8 -1 1 -0.5 1
S 1 1
M 10 22

My "ctrl" file for REEF3D as it is:
B 10 1
B 11 1
B 50 0.000045
B 60 1
D 10 4
D 30 1
F 30 3
F 40 3
F 50 1
F 60 0.20370
I 10 1
I 20 1500
N 10 14
N 11 11
N 40 6
N 45 1000
N 47 0.3
M 10 22
P 10 1
P 20 100
P 92 1
P 180 1
P 182 1
P 81 -1.0 7.0 -0.6 0.6 -0.2 0.8
T 10 2
W 1 1000
W 11 2.8 0.0 0.0
W 22 -9.81

I do not get any error in DiveMESH or REEF3D processes. But in the postProcess there is no inflow velocity. In every time x,y,z velocities at inlet are zero.

In my "control" there is "C 11 1"; so, -x boundary should be inflow.
In my "ctrl" there is "W 11 2.8 0.0 0.0"; so, my inflow velocity should be 2.8 m/s in x direction.

Do i have to use the settings named as "W 10" (inflow discharge) to create what i want as inflow velocity?

Thak yo and best regards.

When using options, W11-W16, you need to turn off B 60 (i.e. B 60 0). I will make that clearer in the new User Guide.

W11-W16 were devised to simulate benchmark cases. Looking at your case, you are simulation free surface flow. In that situation, B60 in combination with W10 is the better option.

In the upcoming release, there will be further improved patchBCs. That will give a larger degree of freedom for inflow and outflow boundary conditions
