Hello,

since I am also interested in the PatchBC I tested some stuff with 22.03.

Mainly, I am interested in the prescriptions of water depth.

So I tried B 413, B 418 and B 422 with the test case that was provided with B 441 1 4 0.55 0.65 0.25 0.35 0.25 0.35, the rectangular patch description.

For B 418 1 1: I see nothing happening in the simulation.
For B 413 1 0.35 and For B 422 1 1 I see the water level changing on the boundary, but no in- or outflow (also see the picture, the velocity is nearly at zero everywhere). Maybe I am just using it wrong, but I thought the velocity would then be prescribed by a gradient of zero.

I have attached the control files, the hydrograph_FSF_1.dat (just some arbitrary sinusoidal wave with h=0.3\pm0.05) and an example picture of the water depth.

Thanks for the explanations in advance!

Hello Felix,

yes, you also need to describe the velocities. Either directly or through the current input. I guess you want to run this for waves? There will be a patchBC implementation for waves very soon. The focus there will be on multiple wave generation locations with each having their own wave input.

Okay, thanks for the clarification on the velocity prescription! Yeah, wanted to try whether this works for waves. Looking forward to the implementation in the future!

Thanks for your work!
