Coupling different domains with different governing equations

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to have regions of different mesh resolutions that solve different governing equations. For example, I would like to model a large 10km x 10km area using shallow water equations, but a particular region 1km x 1km with nonhydrostatic equations. Is it possible to setup as a single simulation or do I need to setup multiple simulations with output from one simulation as an input to the region of interest in a second simulation?

Many thanks,
Ananth.

Hi Ananth,

right now FNPF to CFD coupling is supported through the hydrodynamic coupling framework (HDC). We are working on extending this to SFLOW to CFD very soon.
