I am recently trying to get into CFD again and followed the instructions (correctly I hope) to compile and run DiveMesh and Reef3D on my laptop; I didn't see any errors during the compilation.

Anyway, to test the executables I tried running the 8_6 Rectangular Wave Tank files in the Tutorial; DiveMesh works well creating the necessary files but when I try and run Reef3D is gives me the following error:

read ctrl
!!! Inconsistent M10 parameter, needs to be the same in REEF3D and DIVEMESH !
!!! please check the manual!

My laptop has 6 cores, I am sure I compiled both DiveMesh and Reef3d using "make -j 6". I also edited both ctrl.txt and control.txt to have
M 10 6

Any ideas why it's not running? I didn't have this problem before when I tried on an older laptop.

Apologies, but upon checking the other posts in the forum I found the answer at Installation error

It seems typing out the entire "mpirun -n 6 reef3d" worked rather than just typing "reef3d" in the command line allows it to work.

Cheers and apologies again!
