Wave direction doesn't change with B 97

Dear All,
Hello,

Does anybody know why B 97 command does not change the wave direction? I couldn't find any other command for changing the wave direction.
I have tried B 97 command on "Non-Breaking Wave Forces" tutorial (pls see attached files) with no changes in wave approach :confused:

Best Regards,
Vahid

Hi,

I wanted to say that this problem has already been answered in another thread.
B 105 should be used for wave direction treatment:rolleyes:.

Vahid

Hi Vahid,

yes your are right, B 97 was erroneously listed in the User Guide. It has been removed in the latest master 21.09.

Hello Hans,

Thanks for your reply.
The problem still exists with B105 command.
I tried different ways to produce inclined waves in a 3D numerical channel with no success. In fact with B105, the waves reshape to get mainly parallel to the numerical beach.
Could you please advice me how to tackle the problem (Pls let me know if the problem is solved in your new release, since I am using the previous version). Do I need to assign the two perpendicular sides of the channel as wave generation boundary condition to have inclined waves? (however, I tested this idea with no avail :(). Please also explain a bit about Beta parameter (is it in degrees? clockwise? where is the origin of the angle) and X,Y coordinates of the wave origin in B105 command.

Thanks a lot for your time.
Best Regards,
Vahid

Hello Again,

I wanted to give an update about my previous post.
The problem was not related to B105 command. I couldn't see the oblique waves since I used Dirichlet type of wave generation method (B98 command).
Anyway, with B98 2 or 1 and with enough wave generation distance (B96 command), the inclined waves are generated.
However, they are still damped and get parallel to the beach bc, which I guess is due to the high aspect ratio of the domain (length to width of the domain).

Cheers
Vahid
