Dear Team REEF3D,
Sorry for the previous posting at the wrong place in DIVEMesh FAQ, but I find that I can't delete it. Now I am coming to the new thread. When I check the mesh in Paraview, I find the mesh is the whole mesh, actually I want to show the mesh without the solid part as shown in the figures(the mesh in the tutorial and my mesh). I know it may be very simple, I just miss something, I will appreciate it very much for your help!

Hi,
I am unsure which files you are trying to visualise in Paraview.
If you are using the files from DIveMESH_Paraview, the mesh is shown without the object in the domain.

If you would like to see this, then you need to use the output vtu files. Here you have several options. I belive you want to show the "hole" in the domain due to the presence of the object. Simply use the first .vtu output from running REEF3D and you should be able to generate the visualisation you are looking for.

Dear Yueguotian,

the images for this tutorial case have not been updated, I will do this for the next version. The option for cut-cell type paraview printouts has been removed. Instead the straightforward way of REEF3D_Solid.vtp + REEF3D_CFD-...-....vtu is now the way to go.

Hello,

I do not know whether this will be true for the release candidate, but at least this works for me in 21.11.

I always make a clip-filter in Paraview, set the scalar to solid, its value to 0 and remove the check from the invert check box. This gives u a similar representation as in the pictures (Paraview does some interpolation, so it's kind of round, I guess).

The same is doable for simulations if you use P 25 1 in ctrl.txt. I personally find it sometimes easier to work this way than to work with the .stl (or .vtp) file.

Yes, this also works - although using the Solid.vtp is the preferred way.

Thanks for your reply, Arun, Hans, Felix, thank you very much. Now I know it is related to the Reef3D verison. I will make it clear in case others may encounter this issue and get confused. I use the released version of 21.11, take the example of '9-3 2D vortex shedding' in the tutorial, when visualize the results of the contour with REEF3D-CFD-..pvtu(Fig 1), we may find that the region of the solid cylinder object is kind of weird because the cylinder region should be empty. It is due to the level-set method and the cut-cell type printouts has been removed in this version as Hans said, we cannot get the cutted cell automatically, we can just cover the region or cut this region manually. Using the method of Hans, we can import the REEF3D_Solid.vtp file to cover the region(Fig 2), or we can make a clip-filter to remove the object region like Felix said(Fig 3). I hope this will be helpful, and also hope to see the cut-cell printouts function in the next version, thank you, Hans.
