dear community:

An elementary query:
The M10 command is associated with the architecture of the equipment, right, and with the resources that the model spends time running the tests, right?
What happens is that my computer has 4 cores to work with. Therefore, the maximum capacity is 4, but I could use a smaller number than what is established so as not to overload my equipment at the cost of having a much longer computation time.

Also, I believe that the M10 commands in the ctrl and control input files are required to be identical.

Greetings.

Hi Ernest,

Yes, you are correct.
The maximum value of M 10 is restricted by the number of physical cores on your machine.
You can use a lower value and your simulation will run slower due to lesser resources used.

Yes, M 10 needs to be the same in DiveMESH (control.txt) and REEF3D (ctrl.txt).
This is because control.txt (DiveMESH) generates the decomposed grid and REEF3D reads this decomposition to calculate on parallel processes.

Finally, when you issue the command to run reef3d (eg. mpirun -n N REEF3D)
The number should again match the M 10 input.

Hope that helps
