WENO schemes in REEF3D

Default WENO schemes in REEF3D

Hi there,

While I was checking the UserGuide of REEF3D and testing the code, I noticed there are 2 WENO5 schemes in REEF3D, namely WENO5-HJ and WENO5-FLUX. It is appreciated if you could let me know the difference between them, and if there is any paper I can get more details of these two schemes.

Hi Xin Wang,

WENO HJ- more suitable for level set equations following
Jiang, G. S., & Peng, D. (2000). Weighted ENO schemes for Hamilton--Jacobi equations. SIAM Journal on Scientific computing, 21(6), 2126-2143.

WENO Flux- conservative formulation more suitable for momentum equations following
Jiang, G. S., & Shu, C. W. (1996). Efficient implementation of weighted ENO schemes. Journal of computational physics, 126(1), 202-228.


Based on that we use by default D 10 4 (WENO Flux for momentum equations)
F 35 5 (WENO HJ for level set)
