Open Channel Flow CFD Failure

4 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I am trying to test a specific set of velocities and how a flexible body responds to them in a basic open channel flow system using REEF3D CFD.

Depending on the particular velocity, these simulations have failed in one of two ways, namely exceeding the critical velocity and the time step, delta_t, being too small. Attached are example control files of each.

I based these runs on the example provided in the manual, so I am unsure what is causing them to fail. Looking at the time step failure example in Paraview, I see no excessive or strange velocities until the simulation fails.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Hi Ross,

I guess the first step is to test the cases with out the Z options present.
