Hello everyone,
for the new REEF3D release (22.11) my HDC coupling seems to be broken. The HDC printout in the CFD module prints weird time steps in the range of e-311. I have attached the printout of DiveMESH as a file. I have also attached a simulation that works for me for 22.04.01 (or 22.04) and does not work for 22.11. The simulation itself is of no importance. I made sure during updating to 22.11 to make a clean installation. Cheers Felix |

Hi Felix,
yes, you are correct, I will have a look. In the meantime, you could try P45 2. I think this is the option to move forward with anyways. |

Hello again,
I still feel like there is something broken in the HDC module (I changed the grid size in y-Direction of my example files, such that it matches the grid size of B 1 in DM). The printout with P45 2 works with the release_candidate branch. Using DM prints the HDC_Input just fine for the CFD simulation, but I am getting no actual waves inside the model domain. So I tested another version of REEFD (22.03) and ran my (fixed) simulation. This version does actually work with my (fixed) input files. Having a look at the release notes makes me feel like 22.04 (maybe x fixed hydrodynamic coupling for iteration offset did introduce a bug?), actually lead to the breaking of the HDC module. Thanks for your help and the good work in advance! Cheers Felix |

Hi Felix,
can you try the newest release candidate for REEF3D? There was a small bug regarding the format of the bed elevation and the case should run now. One thing regarding your control.txt file for the CFD simulation: for me there was no cell in y-dir, best to use 0.0 0.01 within B 10 for the y start and end. Since both the FNPF and CFD simulations are 2D, they will be automatically aligned in y-direction. |

Hey,
in regard to the cells in y-direction: That's what I meant with corrected simulation files. Quote:
Nevertheless, the simulation was not running with 22.11. With the new (extraordinary Christmas) version of REEF3D and DM the simulation ran just fine, so I guess both the DM and the REEF3D bug got fixed! Also, P45 2 does work well. Thanks for the good work. Cheers Felix |
