Hello REEF3D users and developers,
I have a specific question regarding the bed shear stress calculation in the sediment transport module (S::Sediment). I am running a simulation using the k-ω turbulence model (T 10 22: URANS with k-w model). For the bed shear stress formulation, I am using S 16 4 (turbulent kinetic energy based). However, I could not find the specific documentation for this. Could anyone please clarify the exact formulation or equation that REEF3D uses to calculate the bed shear stress from the turbulent kinetic energy k (and perhaps ω?) when S 16 4 is selected? Any guidance, reference to a specific paper, or insight into the source code implementation would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance. |

Hi,
The equation in the code is: shear stress = water density * turbulence kinetic energy * 0.3. If you want to look yourself: bedshear_[model name].cpp |

Thank you for your reply.
I was able to confirm it. |
