Analytical solution to this integral?

Dear All,

I am currently seeking an analytical model for condensation upon various geometries. I am updating a legacy code, which needs an analytical expression to be entered.

My work on this...

Solution of a matrix equation

Hi Guys,
I am currently doing some analysis that requires me to solve the following matrix equation:

ri = v * Ai * v'

where ri is a scalar, there are many of these (>n) and they are all known....

Whilst I am grateful for you taking the time to respond to my post, there really was no need to adopt such a condescending tone.

Adopting a condescending tone when communicating with people,...

Thanks Ahmed,
You are absolutely correct - this isn't strictly the Coanda effect as it involves liquid water in quiescent gas. I was using the term in the sense that the 'Coanda effect' is used to...

Coanda effect, condensation on sphere

Hi Guys,
I am currently looking at the condensation of gas onto a sphere. My current assumption is that the condensate film layer will remain attached to the sphere, remaining on the sphere's...

Reading graphical data from printed materials

Hi Guys,
I am trying to compare some numerical results from my work with those appearing in the literature. I have some printed graphs (simple line graphs) and was wondering if anyone knows of any...

Reversible flow

That's what I've been thinking too - it's the only way that the argument can work out.

It makes some degree of sense. For inviscid flow (going from left to right) over a symmetrical airfoil, say,...

Thanks for your reply Mat,

I'm not referring to the shock polar - I guess what I'm really asking about is the reversibility of the Euler equations. I'm dealing with transonic flow over an airfoil...

There's an analytical function for the thickness...

There's an analytical function for the thickness of a NACA00XX airfoil.
The upper surface of the airfoil is given by:

upper(I) = thick*5.*(0.2969*sqrt(x(I)) - 0.1260*x(I) - 0.3516*x(I)^2 +...

Euler equations & expansion shocks

Hi Guys,
I'm reading through some literature on transonic flows and came across a paper that says (I'm paraphrasing) that because the Euler equations do not contain a viscous term that expansion...

Post Transonic Dip & Phase lag

Hi Guys,
Welcome to my first post! :D

I'm reading about transonic aeroelasticity at the moment; it is well known that the flutter speed of an airfoil decreases substantially in the transonic...
