Smile Shadow region not created

Hello! :)

I need to analyse a 2D (axial) cross section of a dual pipe heat exchanger for a multiphase heat transfer problem.

I created the geometry on DM using sketches and surfaces - but I'm...

Hi preetam69,

You can get the profile you want by inserting a line (Surface>line/rake> coordinates) in the direction you want to observe the variation of your parameter.

For example, If I have...

Ok, discovered one more thing today - don't use the heat flux option unless you know the value of heat flux - it treats the wall as adiabatic otherwise (if you leave it zero) :p

Awesome!

Here's one more thing you can try, just to be sure: insert a line along the radial direction somewhere in the middle and check the XY temperature plot - that should bring clarity :)

I...

Hi feedq,

I've been trying the same kind of simulation for a parallel flow exchanger - I think reviewing your boundary conditions should help. What conditions have you imposed on your pipe walls?...

Hi mare910,

A question: are you using a shell conduction boundary condition for the plates or constant heat flux? Also, have you given a thickness the walls?

Also, try looking at a temperature...

Post Wall Conductivity in Heat exchangers

Hi,

I'm trying to do a single-phase flow analysis of a pipe-in-pipe heat exchanger - I'm having some trouble with the wall BCs.

I've managed to make the walls conducting (which means there is...
