It was not so much the incident thermal radiation on the plate that gave me the idea of employing a radiation model there but the fact that on the other side I need to accurately capture the effects...

Thanks Glenn, the plate should emit into the reaction chamber at high temperatures. These tepmperatures would result from incident radiation on the plate, so I guess a radiation model is required...
