Ben,
I am surprised about the dampening coefficient because I had posed the question about whether it has dimensions or not and had come to the conclusion that it did. That is to say that increasing...

Ralph,
The reflecting waves are typically eliminated in commercial solvers with a vertical dampening term applied near the outlet. The documentation in starccm+ goes into detail about it but I am...

Ben,
Looking at your pointDisplacement file you appear to have 2 fixedAxis. When I did free to heave and trim it was with one fixed axis with the axis as (0,1,0). The fixedAxis specifies the axis...

Ben,
Good work getting it to run. My experience with sHM (in 1.7.1 mind you) is that it can't seem to produce a good boundary layer mesh for a hull particularly as you have found near the bow....

I would avoid using a symmetry plane as your far wall BC since if you think about it physically that is saying you have another boat mirrored on the other side (of course if your wall is sufficiently...

bouclette,
Looking at your pictures you appear to have a refinement zone that is at the free surface that only covers a portion of your domain. I have noticed this kind of behavior tends to occur in...
