In createPatchDict.

Just mesh your domain using patches in blockMesh....

Just mesh your domain using patches in blockMesh.

Then use createPatch to generate cyclics. Just as you describe.

Look in:

$FOAM_APP/utilities/mesh/manipulation/createPatch
