Thank you very much for the very quick answer. I looked at RASModel.C.

There is a factor of Cmu^0.25, that is 0.55.
On top of that, y+ in RASModel is based on k (not on tau_w).

So yPlusRAS...

I have computed flow around a spheroid using simpleFoam(1.7.1) and Fluent using k-omega-SST model and an identical mesh.

The results were very similar except that value of y+ computed by yPlusRAS...
