Just to add something, creating a file called 'trn' has the same effect of pressing the backup button: it creates a backup (.bak) file, which is pretty much a res file with a different extension.

peterputter solution of using cfx5stop should work. In fact, what both the cfx5stop and the stop button do is create a file called 'stp' in your simulation...
