Make bigger cell sizes and only the prism layer like you want it, use absolut sizes :)

I would try to use "clear" sizes, I think you maybe have sizes where it isn't possible for the software do create a mesh.
It often happens when you work...

I would use absolute sizes by the prism layer thickness.
Normally there is no limit.
How many cells you have?
Did you look for the memory while doing the mesh?

Do you have a 64Bit version of CCM?
You also could split the regions and mesh per region.
But first check the import mesh.
