Hi, Martin,
JavaFoil is kind of like XFoil but less rigourous in its approach. Yes, I remember reading about effective-lengthening of geometry somewhere.
Anyway, regarding the wake, in the pictures...

Hey everyone,

To start with the improvements you all suggested, I refined my grid a bit from 80k cells to 120k cells, reduced the abruptness of cell size jumps a bit, and reduced freestream...

I should probably clarify the yplus plot. The order in which I defined the airfoil faces are:

Felix,

I enlarged my domain, waited for the integral quantities to converge and the results I finally obtained were:
Cl = 0.52; Cd = 0.045! (large by a factor of 5!)

I have attached my y+ plot...

Felix,

Thanks a lot. I get what yo're saying about convergence, and I do suspect that my grid is maybe not large enough (I did make sure that it was sufficiently fine close to the airfoil.)...

Hi everyone,

I am just about getting started with OpenFOAM, and I was trying to simulate a NACA0012 2D section at 5 degrees angle of attack in a Reynolds number of 5 million (medium: water. So rho...
