Air drag,Q,Clock Pendulum,M.Frontier,CCM,Matlab,Can I use Solidworks for geometry ?

Hello there,

This is my first message to the community and I want to present my best.

Aside of my many hobbies, CAD and optimisation is becoming more accessible today. I started to Autocad 2D drafting course , two months later I will jump to 3D and after 3 months in to the Solidworks course. They all been registered , arranged .

I will go to Siemens Star CCM + , Mode Frontier , Catia and MATLAB courses until next summer.

Now , I am interested in high tech grandfather clocks and boomerangs.

I found that

CATIA
STAR CCM +
MATLAB
MODE FRONTIER

Been used for boomerang optimization.

I want to optimize Q and Airdrag of Clock Pendulum Swinging Weight.

Airdrag causes least 1 seconds error in clocks.

The solution was making the weight like an american football ball.

I have not CATIA but

I have

STAR CCM +
MATLAB
MODE FRONTIER

CAN I ADD solidworks to above programs to geometrical optimization working tool with above softwares ?

thank you,
