Baffle and shell conduction

Hello all,

Here I'giving one typical problem what had faced during defining the boundary conditions using STAR-CD.

Are the BAFFLE & SHELL CELLS permit the heat conduction, if its in between two diff. streams? Is so what extend it will permits.

Re: Baffle and shell conduction

Narsimloo,

As stated on page 7-30 of the user's guide, STAR will calculate the 1-D heat transfer across the baffle. However, it will not compute the thermal conduction along the plane of a baffle's surface, as stated on page 15-2. You would have to extrude these to cells. Please refer to the above pages for more information on limitations.
