Default patch command

I am using the patch command, but have a minor problem:-

I have an area to patch with 5 vertices (a,b,c,d,e for example) on the left, of which none are evenly spaced vertically, but all are in line; and two corner vertices(f,g) on the right (the plan being to have a patch with x cells horizontally, and 3 cells vertically).

I wish for the patch to be made that uses all 4 corner vertices (a,e,f,g, easy enough), but also using the 3 vertices on the left (b,c,d) as points to specify the cells' (within the patch) horizontal lengths.

If anyone knows how, I would be very gratefull, and thankyou in advance.

Mathew

Would you please provide a simple drawing to your geometry.

Try passing a spline through the edge (a,b,c,d,e) before issuing the patch command.

Hi Mathew, To specify cell´s length, you have to define a spline with you four vertices. And afterwards to edit this splines with list > spline. On the rght part of the window, the vertices of your spline will be displayed. Now just select the vertices b,c,d and change their signs with the command "change signs". Viel Spaß! Fred

Hello there, sorry for the length of delay, firstly, I have got around the original problem by using another grid structure. Although Steve's and Fred's comments were useful, they weren't along the line I was thinking about.

But now I am faced with another problem, as how to put pictures up on this message forum.

The reason is, recently my supervisor overcame the problem I first had, and I would like to explain the answer, but as A.Hassaneen noted, it would be easier with a picture.
