I'm a new user of STAR-CD. Now I have a very simple questions: how to add a fire source (heat soure) into the program? I have doing such cases with CFX and the software developed by myself. It just add a heat source in the enthalpy equation. But I don't know how to add it in STAR-cd. Could somebody help me?
Thanks a lot! |

hi raymond,
you have to activate the sorent.f user-subroutine with: starguide: -> analysis controls -> other controls -> miscellaneous controls -> click on the enthalpy button that activates the user subroutine! before pressing the 'define user coding' button (it writes a sample file called sorent.f into the subdirectory ufile) you have to launch the command 'ufiles' in your local directory. this command generates the directory ufile and copies two files (nom.inc and usrdat.incī) into it. in sorent.f you can define a volumetric heat source for a special cell type, for example. you can also include your own fortran-code there. I do that for my heat exchanger simulations in HVAC's and it works fine. hope this helps, Thomas |
