Thermal Discharg in a river

Dear friends

I am trying to model a stream of hot water (discharge from a plant) entering in a moving cold river water. I have approximater the free surface with a moving wall boundary condition. River inlet as velocity boundary condition and river outlet as outlet. As our aim is to model the thermal stratification and bouyant mixing. The isobaric density option have been selected. But with this formulation the solution is not converging. I have tried both stedy state formulation and also the transient formulation. I will be highly thankful if I can get in touch with someone who is working on similar problem.
