User subroutines
Hi I'm having problems compiling star executables which include user subroutines i.e. bcdefi.f. I'm operating under Windows Xp with Compaq Visual Fotran and not Absoft as recommended. What do I need to do to be able to use the Compaq compiler? Meiring

Re: User subroutines
It is not possible to compile the subroutines with an other fortran compiler because all the absoft fortran libaries are also required.

Re: User subroutines
Sorry, but Absoft fortran is not recommended. It is required if you want to use user subroutines. If you need a copy, cd-adapco sells it at cost. Its not just the run time libraries, but the entire way in which functions and data are labeled and stored that (may) differ from compiler to compiler.

Re: User subroutines
Thanks for the info. Steve did you mean Absoft NOT recommended? I'll have to purchase Absoft it seems.

Re: User subroutines
You will have to buy Absoft. It was poor attempt at a joke. I meant that it was not merely a recommendation - it was an absolute requirement.

Re: User subroutines
Very well, thats what I understood, just needed to clarify as such since there are a lot of very confusing, and some not so humourous, ideas and theories flying around about what is recommended vs whats absolutely necessary. Thanks
