It seems i have had V3.150A sitting on my desktop for most of eternity and i was just wondering when the new version is out

Yes I know Star is totally out of date (in comparrision to Fluent or CFX) and I've asked the STAR-CD people several times when the new version will be released. They are always telling me that they have to do a very intensive testing on the new version and I guess this means we have still to wait up to march next year due to the official presentation of STAR CCM at the european user conference.

star CCM? It does seem odd, 3.100b came out then 3.150 followed reasonably quickly, same with 3.150a but it seems ages since then, is there a reason that the whole process ground to a hault at 3.150A after fairly rapid and regular development up to that point?

In the Newsletter the version 3.2 is already anounced. I think it will be released until the middle of next year. With witch Build do you work? My version is 3.150a build 519 for Windows and build 520 for Linux. I hope I will get the Build 522 this year.

I have prostar 521 since ages. I also tried 522 but the opengl did not work on my linux boxed.

Hi

You can get 3.15A build 522 now (Since Nov.) And you can get a beta of the new 3.2 but the gui is not there yet.

3.2 should be release early next year, Star-CCM+ in April and in June Star-CCM (merge between Star and Comet)

I saw an announcement on the CFD-online events page about the launch of the new code at a party in January 2004.
