Star-HPC (Linux) - geodecomp and mergepst limits

We are using Star HPC (4 processors with 3 Gb RAM each) on a Linux Red Hat 8.0 platform (kernel 2.4.20-8). We have a model of about 9,5 million cells. The .geom file has a dimension of more than 1 Gb. We can't decompose the .geom file for tha parallel calculation. Further, for some other CFD models we can't succeed in merging the .pst file after calculation. Is there anybody that knows if there is a limit on the file dimension to decompose (using the geomdecomp executable) and to merge (using themergepst executable) the files on the Linux platform? There are some environment parameters to set up to succeed in these operations?

You should use a 64 bit machine as master node if you want to deal with this kind of problems. There are memory limitations on 32 bit machines and also some file size limits. Try to search the in the forum.
