POROUS SURFACE MESHING PROBLEM

HAI FRIENDS,

I HAVE PROBLEM IN THE AREA OF POROUS AREA (ie GAS DISTRIBUTION SCEENS GD-SCREEN)

TOTAL SURFACE AREA = 2.67 m2 POROUS DIAMETER = 8 mm TOTAL POROUS DIAMETER = 5280 ( CIRCULAR DIA) TOTAL % OF OPENINGS = 30% TO 40%

IN THIS POROUS AREA HOW TO MESH ? HOW TO CALCULATE THE COEFFICIENT PERMEABILITY VALUES,CONSTANTS VALUE LIKE C1,C2,n VALUES.

HOW TO CONSIDER THE PROBLEM,TAKE AS VOLUME OR SOLID? SO PLEASE SEND YOUR SUGGESTIONS & IDEAS.

YOURS FRIENDLY, SUBRAMANI.J

Re: POROUS SURFACE MESHING PROBLEM

In STAR CD porous media are simulated by giving alpha (a) and beta (b) values from the second order polynomial equation passing through origin. y = ax2+bx. y is pressure drop and x is velocity. So from experiment find out these values and directly assign in STAR. Hope this helps.
