Hi All,

I was wondering if you have already some experience with CCM+. I've got it very recently and am just browsing through the documentation. I preffered printing out .pdf, but ok, why not html....

So... what's come into my little head up to now: why do we have to use JAva? what are the advatages/disadvantages of this language? Do you have perhaps a link to a basic cource of Java?

And generally, what are the opinions about CCM+ ? Have you become 'fluent' fast, without any special training?

Regards

Its very easy to use, just do a couple of the turorials and you should learn enough to to run almost any case in it. Its very intuitive

Link to java materials: http://java.sun.com/learning/index.html

Why java? I can think of a few advantages: 1. It is the language that the client software is written in, so the entire functionality of the client is available to user macro programs. The server-side user programming can be in fortran, c, or c++ for doing the heavy work. 2. It is a modern, powerful, standard, secure, well-defined, and (mostly) well-supported language, as opposed to ad hoc in-house "little languages" used by some codes. There are many industrial-strength java development tools to assist in programming. 3. Not so many parentheses.
