starwatch deamon error
 

Dear friends,

While running the starwatch utility I am getting the follwing error message when trying to connect to a host:

Error- the starwatch server daemon is not registered

I am working on a Windows 2000 professional PC.

start the starwatch daemon first, then start starwatch, then start your star job, wait for star to register with the daemon, then get starwatch to monitor

Dear Kevin,

Many thanks Kevin. I tried your mentioned way and also some other ways but it did not work. Then one of my senior colleague advised me to re-install it and during installation set the "set starwatch port" manually by clicking yes on the set starwatch port dialog box which shown as below:

The starwatch solution monitoring program must be assigned a well known port number either on your local machine or on your network domain_name server. Do you want to modify your local service file?

Yes / NO ************************************************** **

You have to click on yes and either give a new port number or accept the default one. Both works.
