Extrude cells.

How do I extrude the single thickness 3-D cells in to a toroid.

I'm pretty sure to do this you have to create a 2-D baffle then use the command vcextrude. I don't think you can extude a 3D cell. This extrusion and toroid stuff is covered in the STAR commands book.

hey chris , Thanks for the reply. Thats what i am trying to do. Could you give me the simplest example using vcextrude for a cylinder, explaining what is what in short.

Re: Extrude cells.

This is how I do it: 1 Add shells on the surface you want to extrude (you can use the cell tool for that) 2 Put shells in a set 3 Compress vertices (vcom all, you will get an output of your maximum vertex number) 4 Renumber vertices of your shells, so that they have the highest numbers of all vertices (vren disc xxx cset, where xxx is your first vertice number you want to use which has to be bigger than the maximum vertice number from the previous step). 5 Use vcextrude command (have a look in Help-->Commands for the options). Once you know your way through this, it can be a very useful command....But if you don't do the vren and the vertice offset in vcex right, you can damage your mesh. Therefore, saving the mdl before is strongly advised.

Good luck
