How to hold the cell type number

I have one question My case is that I have to mesh same pipes heat exchange, what is easy to prepare as a custom mesh and to define different cell no. for pipes and fluid around. But after trimming operation I got all cells in cell no. 1. When I make this operation separately for pipes and fluid volume I got a lot off disconnected cells which is impossible to merge due to different topology of cells after trimming operation.

Question is if exist in ProAM any switch which don't change the cell types numbers from custom mesh in trim mesh? Or if exist any way how to manage this kind of task?

I'm sorry for my English in advance, I'm from Czech.

Re: How to hold the cell type number

I do not think this is possible. By default, ProAm ouputs all resolved cells to type 1, unresolved cells are type 2, and problem cells are type 3.

From the grid generation panel, click on advanced options. In the advanced options panel you can enter commands to change these defaults. You can also click on "Output unique cell types". This will output each cell geometry (hex, tetra, pyramid, etc.) as a unique cell type. I believe the problem & unresolved cells are then types 29 and 30.

If this is possible, I am very interested in the answer. I think this would make a good code enhancement request. I also have been in situations where I would like to preserve the cell types from my custom mesh.

May be I found the solution for these cases.

When I have the custom mesh with different cell type no. I can select only cell type which I'm interested in and to save in other dbs. After building trim mesh I can add this dbs with no cell type offset. And to make check for centroid in to select the cell from type 1 which I want to change to other type. It's only my idea which seems to work. Petr
