Problem in importing the Mesh

Hello everybody, I have a problem in importing mesh in star-cd. Mesh is generated in ICEM hexa,in icem hexa when i select starcd as the solver it generates three files, .inp file,.cel file and .vrt file. When i try importing the mesh in star guide with icem ticked on it asks for .inp file when i invokethe file and click import grids,i couldnt see anything in display window, i even tried directly ticking prostar and then import grid since i have the .cel and .vrt files. i knew somewhere i am going wrong, Can anyone help me? note: its a structured mesh.

Thanks in advance Regards Fred

Re: Problem in importing the Mesh

Hello Fred,

You need four files to export mesh from ICEM to STAR. They are .inp, .bnd, .cel and .vrt files. After importing .inp file through star guide use the following commands in I/O window of star.

cset,all

cplot

Hope this helps,

Bhaskar

Re: Problem in importing the Mesh

You need to place all the files i.e. *.inp , *.cel, *.vrt in one folder and then just read the *.inp file. Since the *.inp file already has instructions to import the other files, all the importing is done automatically.

Hi,

Can anyone explain about descriptions of the variables in the .inp, .bnd. cel, and vrt files?
