Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
Hi,
I am using the aero-acoustics module available Star-CD V3.22 to run a steady state aeroacoustic simulation around a car side view mirror using high Re k-e model. After the simulation converges, 1000 cells have been identified as acoustic sound sources. However I am unable to retrieve this data from the post file or from the post processing module. Does anybody have any advice on this? Thanks in advance Niten |
Re: Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
Niten,
The Lilley source term is stored in the post file (getc aals). Alex. |
Re: Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
Hi alex,
When i type in that command, it simply says ' **error-aals is not a valid cell vecotr/scalar label.' Is there any other way of extracting the data? |
Re: Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
When you load the .pst file, look in the get data panel in the STARGUIde to see if one of the options scalar options is the Lilley source. If it isn't there, then it hasn't been store on the post file.
If it's not on the post file, then either you didn't turn it on, it didn't get calculated correctly (check STAR output for any errors) or it's a bug and you should call support. Alex. |
Re: Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
Hi Alex,
I have run the simulation for a second time, and have definitely specified for the aeroacoustic equation source to be turned on. The info file reveals no errors in the convergence for the simulation, yet I am unable to retrieve the Lilley source from the post file. Any more suggestions? Thanks Niten |
Re: Steady state Aeroacoustic simulation
Hi,
If u are using STAR V3.22 Aeroaccoustics methodology is clearly described in prostar users guide. after loading post data. in scalar variables Accoustic source will come and you can get the data. and you can plot also. rgds sankar |
