Question about moving meshes at star-cd 3.22

Hello I am a new hand; I have a question at moving meshes.

Can anyone help me? Please.

7-1 describes: The sliding mesh method utilises two basic moving mesh operations:

1. Change of mesh geometry 2. Change of cell connectivity

Now, if I want use method one, Where I should go to write cgrid.cgrd ?or how to write?

I don¡¦t understand what it is describing?

Thank you and have a good time.

You have to use both method. Star needs method one to define the movement of the vertices (this is the role of cgrid.cgrd which is written in the working directory). Method two is applied once the move has been done to redefine how the cells are connected to each other given their new location.

I am the one using cgrid.cgrd. The key idea is to prescribe the moving mesh at every time step. I use external source file to read cgrid.cgrd. Then, I prescribe the mesh in cgrid.cgrd.

- Write source file and import to Prostar by using command "ifile". This is the sample of source file

mvgr on, event

memory maxeve 1001

evfi init

*set evno 1 1

*set etim 0 .000001

*defi

evst evno time etim

egrid read cgrid.cgrd

evsa evno

*end

*loop 1 1000 1

- Next, define the moving vertices in cgrid.cgrd. You just prescribe the path of the vertices (using vertex number) u want to move. I think u can find a sample of cgrid.cgrd file in manual

Hope it help u some and Good luck
