HELP: VMERG

Hello, i am fighting since days: i have a transient case and the mesh changes with times. i have used blocks to create the mesh and vmerg is required for the baffles. I MUST keep the number of vertices constant and this does not happen, i tried "nodelete" in vmerg but then the baffles are ignored. I have kept the tolerance of 1e-6 because the smallest cells are around PLease Help. Thank you

"vmerg is required for the baffles"
Why is vmerge required for baffles? I dont see any reason for this statement. Just create your mesh to get a 1 by 1 connectivity and once this is done and the mesh passes all the checks add the baffles. |

Vmerg is needed because i have several neighbouring blocks with face-face. if i dont use vmerg: warning occurs: baffle # is only on one face, ignored for calculation hope i made myself clear i MUST have same number of vertices for changing mesh.

you should first do the vmerge and later create the baffles ...

it does not work. my steps are: 1) delete past cells 2) change position of particular vertices 3) create cells through block commands, here i use variable scale factors due to mesh-fineness requirement which is time-dependent I do not create baffles at this time 4) vmerg with differing tolerance and delete ON 5) number of vertices is not the same anymore I must have same number of vertices PLEASE HELP

It doesn't work this way. You can move the vertex positions between the time steps, add or remove layers ... but not just create a mesh with different vertex numbers.
Read this (and also the other articles on this site) to get an idea what to do: http://www.adapco-online.com/adapco_...rts/star4.html |

Thanks William BUT 0) i have read the articles. it will not help so much in case (no event) 1) i do not create vertices at different timesteps rather must keep them same. 2) i have the tolerance for vmerg 10e-14 so no vertices are delected and tring out if this will work.
